Vladek's story is interwoven with that of his two wives, all three are Holocaust survivors. Speculate on how adding the women's stories would have made the story more complete, more balanced.
If he had told more of the wives stories it for one would help validate his story but given more context on what happen and how it may have effected there relationship. It may have even added to the story going into what was happening to the wives more. -Dalton Greenlee
It would've clarified some things Vladek might've left out and given an interesting viewpoint from Mala, she seemed relatively unphased by being in the camps.
Yes, Vladek probably left out many things in his story and his three wives probably could use their stories to fill in all the information that he left out. It would make the story line much better.
With the wives own stories, it would have been more diverse in helping the reader understand the different things that did happen in the Holocaust. Vladek has his story but every one lived and experienced different things in the Holocaust, so if their stories were put into the book like more in detail and vividly, the reader would get more knowledge. Plus Vladek probably didn't experience the things his other wives did. They could of been through the worst of things in the camps and survived many harsh things.
Having the wives stories into it would've given more of a story to Vladek's. You could find out more of what was going on with Vladek that he might've left out. Also, adding the wives stories would've added more experiences to the Holocaust that Vladek didn't experience. -Summer Collier
I agree that they could had gave other information that Vladek had left out, and it could have been intersting to hear their sotries. - Oline Wolff-Sneedorff
If he had added the wives stories we would have got other perspectives and more intersting facts about the Holocaust, because they would had experience tough/awful things too. I also think that they could have clairfy his experiences in the camp, and the wives could have filled out the holes or parts he could'nt remember himself. So I definitely the wives could have made the book stronger and more trustworthy. - Oline Wolff-Sneedorff
I agree that adding a woman's perspective would have made the novel easier to trust as the truth, it would give another confirmed treatment of the Jews according to another source. Angela b
Adding more women may have been good for this novel. To hear a woman's take on the violence that was put upon the Jews may have added more dynamic to the outline of the story. It would have been interesting to know what women were also treated like during this time period Angela b
With all of the stories put together it would be more complete because it would give different viewpoints of the holocaust in general. It would show what they all went through rather than what Vladek knew anja went through and what he went through. -Ben Shifflett
If he would have added his wives story he would have got other perspectives. It would have showed the Holocaust threw there eyes and showed there struggles and hardship. If all of there stories were together it would have been a complete story and more interesting. -Colton Grant
It possibly would have cleared some things up that Vladek might have left out. It would've also given a a nice viewpoint from Mala, it seemed as if the camps didn't really change that much about her.
